Made of a delicacy called boondi, Motichur Laddoo has numerous tiny round shapes that were made from a mixture of gram flour. These shapes were deep-fried until golden and then placed into a silky sugar syrup made from spices, roses, and cardamom. The syrup sometimes has saffron, which gives the boondi its rich orange color, it also smells wonderful. The boondi absorbs the syrup and gives an authentic melt-in-your-mouth texture.
Each laddoo is hand-made to achieve the ideal texture and flavor profile. Crushed nuts like melon seeds, cashews, or pistachios may also be mixed in to add diversity to the flavor and texture.
