Authentic Heritage & Story

Olive Mithai D.F. Kalakand is a classic Indian dessert that is made from slowly boiled fresh milk, turning into a soft and thick consistency. The process consumes time, but the result is a sweet with a smooth and fudgy texture. The next item to go in is sugar, and not to spill; it will just add a very slight sweetness, nothing more. Then, small pieces of dry fruits such as almonds, cashews, and pistachios are mixed up in the process. These nuts contribute a lovely crunch. Cardamom powder gives a warm scent and taste that makes each bite feel warm and pleasant. Ghee is the ingredient that sews everything together, giving a hint of buttery richness along with the merging of sweet and savory flavors.

When you pick up a piece, it breaks off easily and practically dissolves on your tongue. Every morsel has the signature of the nuts – probably a tiny almond slice or a dot of green pistachio. It does not resemble the hard candies; rather, it is a soft and easy-to-enjoy sweet. In India, kalakand is most often consumed at joyful occasions like festivals or family gatherings. It goes well with all other sweets on a platter. However, you can have it any day, perhaps in the afternoon with a cup of tea or after dinner as a nice ending to the meal.

Storage Instruction:

Seal the contents in an airtight container and store them in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.

How to Use:

Cut the dessert into small portions and serve it at room temperature for the best flavour. If it's from the fridge, just let it sit out for 10 minutes. Have it with tea or after meals as a sweet treat. If you store it properly, it will remain good for 5 to 7 days.

Brand Details:

Olive Mithai started its journey about 15 years ago in Hyderabad, with the intention of introducing the locals to simple and fresh ghee-based sweets and snacks.
