Almond House Besan Laddu is an iconic Indian dessert made with roasted gram flour (besan), pure ghee, and sugar. The initial step involves the slow roasting of fine gram flour in ghee until it reaches the desired shade of rich golden-brown and at the same time, a nutty aroma is released. The roasting process is very important as it not only heightens the flavor but also gets rid of the raw taste of besan. When the flour is perfectly roasted, the confectionery ingredients of powdered sugar and a dash of cardamom powder are mixed in to give the mixture the dual attributes of sweetness and aroma.
After the delicious mixing of the ingredients, the mixture is made into round lumps of roughly the same size that are easy to swallow and taste like melting in the mouth. The laddus made from besan at Almond House are so-called due to their moderate sweetness; and the rich scent, soft and at the same time slightly sandy texture also contribute to their being just the right treat for festive days, celebrations, or even just as a nourishing snack.
