Authentic Heritage & Story
Kubal Cumin Powder is sourced from the seeds of the Cuminum cyminum plant. The seeds of the plant are boat-shaped, have eight ridges, and contain natural oils. The company cleans, roasts, and grinds the seeds into a fine powder, which is light brown and very smooth. When the pack is opened, a warm, earthy aroma fills the kitchen, and this powder is instantly recognizable. It is often used by home chefs for everyday dishes such as lentil soups, vegetable curries, and boiled rice. The color of the powder is mainly due to the seed coats that still remain in the first yellowish-brown shade. Cumin seeds get this dried form after they are picked from the fields.
Storage Instructions:
Kubal Cumin Powder should be stored in a fridge, but not too cold and very far from light or heat sources. Transfer it to airtight glass or metal containers with very tight lids. Keep away from stoves, sinks, or humid areas. Always take some out with a dry spoon and then close the lid quickly.
How to Use:
Heat oil in a pan and start by adding a pinch of Kubal Cumin Powder along with diced onions. Halfway through, stir it into the boiling lentils or rice water. Incorporate it into flour dough for making flatbreads or batter for fried snacks. At the end, sprinkle over cut fruits, plain yogurt, or roasted veggies. Dust fresh on soups or grilled meats right before eating. The shelf life lasts for 12 months from the date of packing if proper storage is followed. Start with a little and then add more to achieve the desired taste.
Brand Details:
Kubal operates through K. T. Kubal & Co. Pvt. Ltd., which was founded nearly 100 years ago by Krishnaji Tukaram Kubal in Mumbai. The journey from fresh family grinding to pre-packed spices was through the improvement of steps and wraps.
