Authentic Heritage & Story

Curry Tree Chettinad Masala Paste brims with the rich flavor of Tamil Nadu-style cooking. This thick mixture contains the hotness of pepper and sweetness of fennel, which makes gravies that cling to the meat. It changes the mutton into a slow-simmered stew and the chicken to a shiny main with a smooth coating. The paste dissolves into the oil, letting out clove and star anise flavors throughout the pan.

Root vegetables like carrots are given a rich and strong flavor and they get a little crunchy in the sauce, while fish gets a brief but drastic coastal raise. Lentils become creamy with its sourness that goes well with rice or flatbreads. The process of simmering brings out the richness of coconut which is the perfect partner for the hotness of the dish without making it unappealing. The mixture has constant spice levels that last for several uses, keeping up with the classics of the Chettinad cuisine. One scoop is all it takes to give simple dishes a taste that is layered and loved at home.
